<br />
As a tribute to the former 2x Finals MVP, let us take a look back at his Illustrious career:<br />
<br />
<u><b>COLLEGE CAREER</b></u><br />
<br />
Born Ranidel Rozal de Ocampo, his basketball career began at the Saint Francis of Assisi College System Doves, where he played with his brother, Yancy. They both led the varsity squad to several NCRAA titles. Although the taller Yancy left for the PBA, Ranidel still led the Doves into several statistical categories such as scoring and rebounding and was one of the best players of his time.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-uP08THmYc0U/XpdENpoX4WI/AAAAAAAAB9E/8cBof1WlaM43bDFVfPvyl2lu7ojCLVYagCLcBGAsYHQ/s1600/ranidel-de-ocampo-st-francis-doves-1586933458.webp" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="675" data-original-width="1200" height="180" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-uP08THmYc0U/XpdENpoX4WI/AAAAAAAAB9E/8cBof1WlaM43bDFVfPvyl2lu7ojCLVYagCLcBGAsYHQ/s320/ranidel-de-ocampo-st-francis-doves-1586933458.webp" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<u><b>PBA</b></u><br />
<u><br /></u>
The fourth overall pick by the FedEx Express in the 2004 PBA Draft, RDO played alongside his brother Yancy averaging a decent 7.5 points and 4.6 rebounds while playing a little over 21 minutes of action per game.<br />
<br />
It was not until the 2005–06 season where he improved to 13.3ppg in his sophomore year, registering 6.7 rebounds and 2.4 assists.<br />
<br />
After 3 years with FedEx, he was dealt to the Talk 'N Text Tropang Texters for veteran Don Allado. There he blossomed and his all-around play helped them beat the Alaska Aces in that conference's finals series, 4-3, earning him his first PBA title.<br />
<br />
Touted as one of the best "Stretch four" in the history of the PBA, de Ocampo led the Texters to the 2015 PBA Commissioner's Cup championship, winning a seven-game series against Rain or Shine Elasto Painters.<br />
<br />
He was named as the Finals MVP. During the series, he averaged 24.3 points and 6.6 rebounds and as well as shooting at an impressive 40% from the three-point area over the course of seven games.<br />
<br />
In September 11, 2017, de Ocampo was dealt to the Meralco Bolts.<br />
<br />
<u><b>GILAS</b></u><br />
<u><br /></u>
De Ocampo began to serve his country in 2003, and in 2008 where he was again included in the RP Training Pool, assembled by the PBA under Coach Yeng Guiao.<br />
<br />
The most unforgettable stint was in the Gilas Pilipinas roster that placed second in the 2013 FIBA Asia Championship held in Manila and earned a ticket to compete in the 2014 FIBA Basketball World Cup. <span style="background-color: white; color: #48494a; font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , "times" , serif; font-size: 16px;"> </span><span style="font-family: inherit;">His heroic plays in the Philippines' streak-busting win against Korea in the 2013 FIBA Asia Championship at the Mall of Asia Arena.</span><br />
<span style="background-color: white; color: #48494a; font-size: 16px;"><span style="font-family: inherit;"><br /></span></span>
<iframe allow="accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture" allowfullscreen="" frameborder="0" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/zLGreyqCCxE" width="560"></iframe>
<br />
<br />
<br />
Former Gilas Pilipinas and TNT Katropa head coach Chot Reyes shared that the best way to pay tribute to RDO in his Instagram post.<br />
<br />
<iframe allow="accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture" allowfullscreen="" frameborder="0" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/YiAMam--D04" width="560"></iframe>
<br />
<br />
“For me, Ranidel is a coach’s dream," said Reyes. "He’s a type of player that we call “highly-skilled, high-value but very low maintenance.”<br />
<div>
<br />
Ranidel finished his career with an impressive resume:<br />
<br />
<ul>
<li>6× PBA champion (2008–09 Philippine, 2010–11 Philippine, 2011 Commissioner's, 2011–12 Philippine, 2012–13 Philippine, 2015 Commissioner's)</li>

What have you been doing for the past 2 weeks? Have you been productive? or are you bored of sitting all day, scrolling on social media? The Enhanced Community Quarantine has brought the best and the worst in the Filipino, and with the government extending the ECQ until April 30, people are more confused of what to do to help out the situation.<br />
<br />
<a name='more'></a><br />
That is why we came up with a list of 5 ways of how to make a difference in this period of stillness. This is a time for each of us can ponder and think that if we helped each other out, we can come out as a more united and better Filipino as we move forward as a Nation.<br />
<br />
<br />
<b>MAKING THE DIFFERENCE</b><br />
<br />
When you're stuck at home, there are a lot of distractions that we tend to spend most of our time on Social Media, Netflix, YouTube and playing games. We get to forget the reality that is happening outside. We now have now an opportunity to help and really make a difference in our situation as a country.<br />
<br />
Below is a list of contrasting ideas of what we spend most our time versus the Opportunities of what we can do better to improve ourselves and the help others.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-BDjs9IcNSWI/XpLXwWKajMI/AAAAAAAAB68/05_Hj-Be6qIPYXaLCaasTs3rVtjm5S2pwCLcBGAsYHQ/s1600/1%2Bcopy.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1333" data-original-width="784" height="320" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-BDjs9IcNSWI/XpLXwWKajMI/AAAAAAAAB68/05_Hj-Be6qIPYXaLCaasTs3rVtjm5S2pwCLcBGAsYHQ/s320/1%2Bcopy.png" width="188" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-yAG35AgNJgw/XpLXwQGisiI/AAAAAAAAB7A/LyfrWv3XKhEhKblfAkvjCarW32rlGJylQCLcBGAsYHQ/s1600/2.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1323" data-original-width="784" height="320" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-yAG35AgNJgw/XpLXwQGisiI/AAAAAAAAB7A/LyfrWv3XKhEhKblfAkvjCarW32rlGJylQCLcBGAsYHQ/s320/2.png" width="189" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<br />
<b>1. Donate instead of Horde.</b><br />
One of the first things I noticed a few weeks before the ECQ was Hording of Alcohol, Masks and other medical equipment...even Bananas! The ECQ has affected the poor is their limited access to their basic needs. Poor families have no work, no savings and dependent to government subsidy.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://www.unicef.org/philippines/sites/unicef.org.philippines/files/styles/hero_mobile/public/UNIPH2019018.JPG?itok=oAAkxkfs" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="400" data-original-width="600" height="213" src="https://www.unicef.org/philippines/sites/unicef.org.philippines/files/styles/hero_mobile/public/UNIPH2019018.JPG?itok=oAAkxkfs" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
If you have some extra financial resources, why not donate to make an impact. Listed below are some links to donate and help:<br />

<span style="white-space: pre;"> </span><br />
<b>2. Volunteer and move instead of sitting in front of our smartphones and Televisions. </b><br />
<br />
Smartphones and Netflix can help us stay home but it separates us from the realities of the COVID19 Pandemic<br />
<br />
If you know of a certain organization and you want to have a more pro-active way of helping. Here are some ideas we can make one.<br />
<br />
<span style="white-space: pre;"> </span>1. Organize creating <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v9FSDSc76q4">Face Shields </a><br />
<span style="white-space: pre;"> </span>2. Volunteers sa barangay or NGOs in repacking services.<br />
<span style="white-space: pre;"> </span>a. <a href="https://www.ivolunteer.com.ph/">ivolunteer</a><br />
<span style="white-space: pre;"> </span>b. DSWD to wrap food packs<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-b4AedctPj6A/XpLcZK1g7KI/AAAAAAAAB7g/ToRFZeYIPc8Wja7oJvYaCCXHVrFp6C4HwCLcBGAsYHQ/s1600/Screenshot%2B%252829%2529.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="763" data-original-width="1600" height="190" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-b4AedctPj6A/XpLcZK1g7KI/AAAAAAAAB7g/ToRFZeYIPc8Wja7oJvYaCCXHVrFp6C4HwCLcBGAsYHQ/s400/Screenshot%2B%252829%2529.png" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<b>3. Share valuable information instead of gossips and useless memes.</b><br />
<br />
Sharing information such as how to volunteer, or information drive to how to take care of your health, making a cloth mask and many more. This is a more productive effort that spending time on memes and gossiping online. this will not provide a positive impact on others.<br />
<br />
<b>4. Stay at home and learn something new instead of going out for a secret drinking session. </b><br />
<br />
If the previous suggestions does not apply to you, Staying at home would be the best decision to make a difference. Learn a skill, play an instrument, make important connections thru LinkedIn, join free webinars. These are just some of the possible things you can improve on.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://images.pexels.com/photos/4035347/pexels-photo-4035347.jpeg?auto=compress&cs=tinysrgb&dpr=1&w=500" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="333" data-original-width="500" height="213" src="https://images.pexels.com/photos/4035347/pexels-photo-4035347.jpeg?auto=compress&cs=tinysrgb&dpr=1&w=500" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<b>5. Support our front-liners instead of Dancing online! </b><br />
<br />
We know that the Tikotok culture has already taking over the Filipino households. But you can use tiktok as a form to encouragement to all front-liners and those who are sick because of the virus. We as Filipinos will always find humor in any situation. This quality makes us unique among all other cultures in the world. Below are some of the links you can contact to help our front-liners:<br />
a. <a href="https://www.facebook.com/TulongKabataanUPM/">Tulong Kabataan</a><br />
b. <a href="https://www.facebook.com/philippinegeneralhospitalofficial/">PGH</a><br />
c. <a href="https://www.facebook.com/KayaNatinPH/">Kaya Natin! Movement</a><br />
<br />
What we have now is a very valuable commodity that we could not waste...TIME.<br />
If we can use this valuable asset that we have to more productive direction, we can make a difference in the community around us and is also an opportunity for some self improvement.<br />
<br />
If you have any suggestions on how else we can make a difference, please leave a comment, or share this post to your social media platforms...we would appreciate it.<br />

<div style="text-align: justify;">
The heart of the Holy Week has arrived and the Department of Health has released its updated statistics for the COVID 19 pandemic in the Philippines as of 4pm today.<br />
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The latest numbers show a total of 4,076 total number of COVID cases. We stand 35th in the world rankings as to the total number of COVID cases, with the US having the most with 435,167 as of the writing of this post. This is a far cry to the worlds total <a href="https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/#countries">number of cases</a> as it reached at 1.5M cases.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br />
<a name='more'></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The recent numbers also reveals that we have a total of 124 recoveries and 203 deaths, with 21 new casualties as of today.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Comparing to our Southeast Asian neighbors, we are ranked 2nd as to the total number of infected individuals behind Malaysia. We are also 2nd behind Indonesia with the total number of deaths within our Southeast Asia and 6th in Asia.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
One important statistic is that we lead Southeast Asia in the total number of active cases, which is also 7th in Asia with 3,749 cases. This is in the light that we have not done mass testing yet, which could push our numbers up. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
In a statement earlier, Secretary Francisco Duque highlighted that we are one of the lowest in terms of per 1 Million Population in the world reflecting the governments efforts to flatten the curve.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Filipinos continue to stand united as the President extends the ECQ until the end of April. A prayerful week ahead as he reiterated that to God we can only trust.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">

<br />
Narrated by none other than Zeus himself...Liam Neeson. His voice fits well talking about one of the Icons of Philippine Boxing but also a future Legend and Hall of Famer.<br />
<br />

Here is the Synopsis:<br />
<i><span style="background-color: white; color: #333333; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 17px;">From abject poverty to becoming an eight time boxing world champion, congressman, and international icon, Manny Pacquiao is the true definition of a Cinderella-man story.</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #333333; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 17px;" /><br style="background-color: white; color: #333333; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 17px;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #333333; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 17px;">In the Philippines, he first entered the ring as a sixteen year old weighing ninety-eight pounds with the goal of earning money to feed his family. Now, almost twenty-years later, when he fights, the country of 100 million people comes to a complete standstill to watch. The army and the rebels cease-fire. There are no cars in the street. There is zero crime. An entire country becomes united.</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #333333; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 17px;" /><br style="background-color: white; color: #333333; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 17px;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #333333; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 17px;">Regarded for his ability to bring people together, Pacquiao entered the political arena in 2010. As history's first boxing congressman, Pacquiao now fights for his people both inside and outside of the ring. Now at the height of his career, he is faced with maneuvering an unscrupulous sport and maintaining his political duties, while still supporting his family and sustaining a personal life. The question now is, what bridge is too far for Manny Pacquiao to cross?</span></i><br />
<i><span style="background-color: white; color: #333333; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 17px;"><br /></span></i>
<span style="background-color: white; color: #333333; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 17px;">The trailer begins with Manny talking about why he began Boxing, and ends it with..."because its God's will", now that really sound awesome. </span><br />

<br />
Donaire floored the Japanese within 1:50 of Round 9 with a right straight to the jaw retaining his WBO super bantamweight title and gaining the vacant WBC super bantamweight title.<br />
<br />
<a name='more'></a><br />
<br />
The Fight was more of a chess match than a boxing fight as both fighters began the first 2 rounds finding ways to outsmart each other.<br />
<blockquote class="tr_bq">
<i>“I know he’s a great fighter and that both of us can end the match with one punch. It boils down to who makes the mistake and he made that mistake,” Donaire said.</i></blockquote>
The mistake was anticipated by the 29-year-old champion, seeing the opening and quick to pounce caught Nishioka by surprise. Although referee Raul Caiz Sr. allowed Nishioka to sa standing 8 count, the Japanese was already wobbly and was sure not to survive another Donaire onslaught.<br />

Here are the highlights and the post match interview below.<br />

In recent times, most stories are told to us via movies, and seldom do we now encounter a Filipino movie that is both told well and is heartwarming.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: "trebuchet ms" , sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<br />
<a name='more'></a><span style="font-family: "trebuchet ms" , sans-serif;">Bwakaw is an indie film that talks about a story that strikes a sensitive cord to Filipino hearts. It tackles about life, being elderly, facing realities, and friendship. Eddie Garcia stars in this film that talks about an old gay man (no spoilers) facing the harsh realities of elderly life, and loneliness. He is accompanied by his only BFF, Bwakaw --- a dog (I think askal to?) who never leaves his side. Together they face life's trials and learn lessons that will forever resonate in our souls.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: "trebuchet ms" , sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: "trebuchet ms" , sans-serif;">This movie has been cited by <a href="http://entertainment.time.com/2012/09/28/new-york-film-festival-2012-preview-10-films-to-watch/">Time Magazine</a> as 10 films to watch at the New York Film Festival, which is slated from September 28 - October 14. Schedule to the movie is found <a href="http://www.filmlinc.com/nyff2012/schedule">here</a>.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: "trebuchet ms" , sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: "trebuchet ms" , sans-serif;">The Movie is also the Philippines' bet to the Oscars in the Foreign Films Category.</span><br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">After 99 years of waiting, Philippine football has now earned a championship after beating Chinese Taipei 3-1 in a highly competitive 98 mins.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"></span><br />
<a name='more'></a><span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">Denis Wolf who scored the first goal was awarded the MVP and Golden Boot Award. Jeff Christaens won best Defender, Matt Uy winning the best Midfielder and Ed Sacapano got the best Goalie award.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">The first half was beautiful as the Azkals took advantage of the Taiwanese errors, and converted them to 3 goals. The Chinese Taipei team bounced back in the second half with more Physical play and a goal marked by a lapse of judgement from Sacapano. He then redeemed himself a few minuets later by stopping a penalty shot in the dying minuets of the game.</span><br />

<span style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;">I saw a quote today from the movie Full Metal Jacket ---- "Don't get between a Dog and his meat". Well, as of today Chinese Taipei is getting in the way of these rabid Azkals for its first Winning Title ever since the Miracle of Vietnam. But do they have what it takes to go all the way??</span></div>

</div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">In a dominating performance, the Azkals blasted Macau 5-0, with a fluid offense and tenacious defense. Dennis Wolf scored his first hat trick as a national player after suffering a long drought for the past months. Demetrius Omphroy also continued to show his mastery of the midfield, creating opportunities for his teammates that is just a positive note for the future of Philippine football. If Wolf continues to show this type of fluidity and killer instinct then the Azkals will be enjoying that piece of meat.</span></div>

<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">What the Azkals need today is at least a draw to win it all. The team has been playing seamlessly for the last 2 games, but Chinese Taipei is another story and should not be taken lightly. They have scored goals also in the past few games, while the Philippines kept a clean sheet. Will this be the time where the Azkals will be scored at? Ed Sacapano is still doing a great job between the posts setting up the defense and making quick decisions during counters. </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">This is an important game in Philippine Football...If the Azkals win, it is going to be historic, so go and watch it live 7pm later or go to Rizal Memorial and get your tickets!</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span>

<div>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">We better watch out for all these guys...I hope they start in the next games together.</span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif; font-size: large;"><b>Consistently Inconsistent</b></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">Yes, the team did managed a win, but the win was far from impressive.10 on target attempts and 1 conversion does not look like a dominant team to me. Here are some of the reasons why the team performed poorly:</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">1. Poor Finishing</span><br />
<br />
<ul>
<li><span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">If there was a concrete definition to bad luck, it would be Wolf and Araneta, both of them got their opportunities but could not capitalize. They need to regain their confidence back, or else they will be replaced by the younger ones. </span></li>
</ul>
<br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">2. Gel Factor</span><br />
<br />
<ul>
<li><span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">The game against Guam was I think the first time this group of guys played together as a unit...its obvious that the passes were not anticipated, poor execution. I guess the the Younghusbands absence would actually be for the better of the team, coz it gives them a wider way to build up players. </span></li>
</ul>
<br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">3. Solid 11?</span><br />
<br />
<ul>
<li><span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">The first half of the game with Guam was for me a disaster, while the second half played with more cohesion and timing...They need to fix their lineup against Macau if they would want to win. </span></li>
</ul>
<br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">4. External Distractions</span><br />
<br />
<ul>
<li><span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">Well, different reactions from mainstream and social media did in fact made an impact in the team. Even the audience in Rizal Memorial was a drought, I hope the PFF would consider to play in other places of the Philippines like Cebu or in Mindanao.</span></li>
</ul>
<br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">I think the management should address these concerns and show us some results in their game later today against Macau. Its going to be a close one, but if they will have the same type of game they had against Guam, i'm afraid to say that we might....MIGHT be in for a tough loss. Let's pray it wont.</span><br />

<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">Last year it was called the Long Teng Cup and we finished 2nd with a formidable squad. Tomorrow, the Philippines will host the Philippine Football Peace Cup, with a lineup that is young, filled with local talents and a bit controversial. Recent events have transpired within the week and a huge shake-up of the team shocked Pinoy Football fans, including the Younghusband brothers who were not included in the roster of players who are to participate in the Peace Cup. </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"></span><br />
<a name='more'></a><span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif; font-size: large;"><b>Team Previews</b></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><b>1. Philippine Azkals</b></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">The Azkals have been rolling in the past games losing a to only a single game, to Chicago Fire, since June of this year, excluding of course that game against Laos which was nullified by FIFA. They tied with Malaysia (0-0) last June 1, and also with Indonesia (2-2)a few days after and beat Guam (3-0) in the same month before shocking Singapore (2-0) a few weeks ago. </span><br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://imageshack.us/a/img69/2943/spo6nowtr.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" height="300" src="http://imageshack.us/a/img69/2943/spo6nowtr.jpg" width="400" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">photo from Anton Sheker</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<span style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;">Unlike the Singapore game, the lineup for the peace cup is quite different. Due to some </span><span style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;">nonavailability</span><span style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;"> of some foreign based players, the roster was changed a bit with the additions of some local based players. But what was surprising was the exclusion of brothers Phil and James Younghusband to the lineup. In a press conference held earlier today, the PFF explained in detail why the Younghusbands were excluded from the lineup, coach Michael Weiss said that their non football activities were creating problems not only to himself but to other players as well. (From twitter)</span><br />
<span style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;"><br /></span>

<span style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">The PFF also stated that they could not meet certain demands from the brothers, probably related to monetary concerns</span>.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-03vxgyDnVnI/UGAkOx6UutI/AAAAAAAAAfA/T51uPBfERa0/s1600/Twitter2.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="67" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-03vxgyDnVnI/UGAkOx6UutI/AAAAAAAAAfA/T51uPBfERa0/s400/Twitter2.png" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">An official statement from the brothers from <a href="http://www.interaksyon.com/interaktv/phil-younghusband-counters-pff-wed-play-for-the-azkals-for-free">Interaksyon</a> said that they would be willing to play for the country for free, contrary to the statement earlier said that they had demands that could not be met by the PFF.</span><br />
<blockquote class="tr_bq">
<i><span style="font-family: Times, Times New Roman, serif;">“We have other commitments but we would play for the Azkals for free,” Phil told News5′s Chiqui Roa-Puno on Monday.</span></i></blockquote>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">Phil's absence will be felt hard as Wolf and Araneta has shown no presence in the last games that they were together in the pitch. James on the other hand, will sorely be missed on the midfield as his leadership and play making abilities will be hard shoes to fill.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">The emergence of Patrick Reichelt at midfield though proved to be a big boost to the lineup considering the absence of Angel Guirado and James. The only other threat the Azkals have is Bahadoran and of course Cheiffy, the defensive back seems to look solid as I see de Murga, and Sabio being the glue at the back.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">Here is how I see the line up will go for much of the tournament:</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://footballformation.co.uk/team/442/240912093420.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="http://footballformation.co.uk/team/442/240912093420.png" width="301" /></a></div>
<br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">As much as match-ups are concerned, the only stumbling block they have to face here is Chinese Taipei, If the Azkals can beat the Taiwanese, then they will win it all.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><b>2. Chinese Taipei</b></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><b><br /></b></span>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">The last game they played according to <a href="http://www.fifa.com/associations/association=tpe/fixturesresults/gender=m/index.html#">FIFA</a> was during the last Long Teng Cup, and it was like a year ago. But according to their coach on a tweet from the press conference, the team is a different team from the last time the Azkals met them.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-JzgbnvpRelA/UGAs6gGN06I/AAAAAAAAAfY/ejoXkmtvNB8/s1600/Azkals+(PHI_Azkals)+on+Twitter.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="65" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-JzgbnvpRelA/UGAs6gGN06I/AAAAAAAAAfY/ejoXkmtvNB8/s400/Azkals+(PHI_Azkals)+on+Twitter.png" width="400" /></a></div>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">Ranked 176, the last time the team won a game was a 3-0 thrashing of Macau in last year's Long Teng Cup.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">I think they will finish in the top 2, that is if the Azkals beat them. The last time they met the Azkals was a 0-0 draw.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><b>3. Guam</b></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><b><br /></b></span>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">This team is still a developing team with a lot of American and even Filipino players. The last time they were here was during a friendly in Bacolod, where the Azkals beat them 3-0. They have a very promising goalie though and the ladies should check this guy out.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://a0.twimg.com/profile_images/2342877304/image.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="200" src="http://a0.twimg.com/profile_images/2342877304/image.jpg" width="198" /></a></div>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;">I see them probably beating Macau as they did in the past.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><b>4. Macau</b></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><b><br /></b></span>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">Having the lowest FIFA ranking in the tournament, I don't see anything changing for team Macau. The last time this team won was against Cambodia, and this was last February of 2011. Team is made up mostly of older players avg. around 28-30's.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">This tournament aims to expose National teams to competition and to improve younger players by exposing them to international play as well. The Azkals are aiming to surpass their achievements in their last stint in the Suzuki Cup 2 years ago, and they can only achieve this by preparing well. We hope that whatever trials they are facing right now they would be able to straighten things out, all for the name of National Pride! </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">Good Luck to Team Philippines...Onward Azkals!!</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><b><br /></b></span>

As the final horn sounded and the scoreboard showed a 79-63, loss by the Gilas 2.0 in the hands of a towering Qatari team, I was a bit frustrated how the team performed today since winning the Jones Cup, a few days back. </div>

Yes, Qatar is a huge team, there's no doubt to that, they even have a NBA player playing for their team that makes them very formidable. What stings though is the fact that we are making too many excuses when we lose in the game of Basketball, where I think we should dominate in Asia! I did not like the way coach Chot was saying in an article in the <a href="http://www.philstar.com/sportsarticle.aspx?publicationsubcategoryid=200&articleid=851672&keyword=sp_pba">Philippine Star</a>... </div>

<div>
I have nothing against our current team..they are talented and have potential. Its just that we keep on changing our system, that we lose our consistency!</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
We were limited to 26 points in the First Half!! 8 points in the First Quarter! that's just terrible basketball for a country who embrace basketball like a religion! Look at the top 3 teams...Iran, Japan, Qatar..they don't love basketball like we do?</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
This continue to proves that even though we are a Basketball country we cannot dominate Asian basketball, let me sum this up in two important points. </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
1. we don't have a consistent basketball grassroots program and </div>
<div>
2. we are too reliant in the PBA for talented players. </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Let's stop all the politics and bickering in basketball and lets start to move forward...Our People deserve the best team out there. They have been waiting for too long.</div>

The movie features the Sama tribe of Tawi-Tawi, an island province in the southern most islands of the Philippines. It talks about the story of Shaleha (Nora Aunor), A Midwife, who ironically has suffered her third miscarriage and is agonizing for not being able to bear a child to her Husband Bangas-an (Roco). To fulfill her husbands' wish to have a child she decides to find a new partner for her husband. She finds her, but on the eve of her husband's second marriage, she is consumed by jealousy.<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
The movie trailer (below) shows some glimpse of the culture of the Sama tribe as well as the socio-economic dilemma it faces. The province is seen by outsiders as a breeding ground for terrorist and criminals. It seems from the trailer, the movie is tying to portray a "realistic" Tawi-Tawi.<br />

This is an important fight for donaire as he is attempting to get the coveted Undisputed Champion, in his division. A feat never before achieved by any Filipino boxer including Manny Pacquiao. </span><br />
<span style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;"></span><br />
<a name='more'></a><br />
<span style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;">For him to make a statement to the boxing world that he is serious in this pursuit, he must win convincingly against Mathebula. This means a unanimous decision is not enough. He should either make a TKO or a Knockdown to stamp himself as a serious contender for the pound for pound top 3.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;"><br />
</span><br />
<span style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;">Mathebula on the other hand is not a pushover, and should never be taken lightly as he has nothing to loose and all to gain for this fight. representing the African continent, Mathebula has an impressive resume (26-14-3) He is not that a power puncher but more of a methodical orthodox. His Nick name the "mongoose" means he is not meant to be underestimated.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;"><br />
</span><br />
<span style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;">Some insights from various boxing websites have different comments regarding the fight,</span><br />
<span style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;"><a href="http://www.boxingnews24.com/2012/07/donaire-will-struggle-if-mathebula-doesnt-move-at-him/">boxingnews24.com</a> looks at the Donaire strategy as, already predictable:</span><br />
<blockquote class="tr_bq"><span style="background-color: black; color: white; font-family: Verdana, Geneva, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 14px;"><i>Donaire is absolutely terrible against fighters that don’t come at him so that he can time them and nail them with his right hook. </i></span></blockquote><blockquote class="tr_bq"><i style="background-color: black;"><span style="color: white; font-family: Verdana, Geneva, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 14px;">If you’ve listed to Donaire speak about the fight, he feels certain that Mathebula is going to slug with him and give him a chance to knock him out.</span><span style="color: white; font-family: Verdana, Geneva, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 14px;"> </span> </i></blockquote><blockquote class="tr_bq"><i style="background-color: black;"><span style="color: white; font-family: Verdana, Geneva, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 14px;">I’ve seen some of Mathebula’s fights and that’s not the kind of fighter he is. He’s not stupid for one. He’s not going to fight like an idiot by rushing forward with wild haymaker shots to make it easy for Donaire. Mathebula is a technician and he’s going to use his intelligence and his long reach to carve Donaire up from the outside. Mathebula knows what Donaire is all about at this point.</span> </i></blockquote><br />
In a recent interview with <a href="http://ringtv.craveonline.com/blog/173683-video-nonito-donaire-and-jeffrey-mathebula-interviews">ringtv</a> below, both fighters express their confidence in winning the fight, Mathebula on the other hand ends it with a very concise statement: "Believe me He will not take my belt"<br />

<span style="background-color: white;"><span style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;">This coming weekend Donaire has the upper hand as the boxing favorite at -360, meaning you have to risk $360 to $100.</span></span><br />
<span style="background-color: white;"><span style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;"><br />
</span></span><br />
<span style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;">This Sunday is going to be more of a chess match rather than a slug fest. Expect an exciting, intelligent fight. </span><br />

Just today, <a href="http://www.guinnessworldrecords.com/world-records/9000/largest-crocodile-in-captivity">Guinness</a> has declared the beast as the "largest crocodile in captivity". It was captured last year in the town of Agusan Del Sur, in the Southern Island of Mindanao. Its official measurement was 20.24 ft, or 6.17m and weighing at around 1,075 kg or 2,370lbs, breaking the previous record held by Cassius, a 5.48m Australian salt water Crocodile. </span><br />
<div><span style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;"><br />
</span></div><div><span style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;">The public seems to be mixed in the perception of the status of Lolong. Some would say that he would be better off in a zoo rather than be in an Eco-Park setting. What's the difference anyway?? </span></div><div><span style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;"><br />
</span></div><div><a href="http://i.imgur.com/uJKWF.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://i.imgur.com/uJKWF.jpg" width="240" /></a><span style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;">Personally, I think he should be placed in a more secure and stable environment owned by a large international wildlife facility where he would be better taken care of instead of just being used as a tourist attraction for the benefit of a selected few. </span></div><div><span style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;">What's crazy about this crocodile is that now he gets the super star treatment and a Guinness record just because it was suspected to have eaten a young girl...what a sad reality.</span></div><div><br />

<span style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;"><br /></span><br />
<span style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;">But overconfidence is the one thing Manny Pacquiao should be avoiding this coming week as Bradley is cooking up something for the fight of his career.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;"></span><br />
<a name='more'></a><br />
<span style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;">My first impression of Bradley was....Bradley who??</span><br />
<span style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;"><br /></span><br />
<span style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;">Manny should not underestimate this guy. Here are my top 5 reasons Why Pacquiao should take Bradley seriously.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;"><br /></span><br />
<span style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;"><b>1. He's Undefeated</b></span><br />
<br />
<ul>
<li><span style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;">at 28-0, Manny should not take this guy lightly. Bradley has beaten bigger fighters, faster fighters and even more experienced fighters than he is, so Manny should put his guard up always.</span></li>
</ul>
<br />
<span style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;"><b>2. He's a Champion</b></span><br />
<br />
<ul>
<li><span style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;">I remember a quote form Rudy Tomjanovic "Never underestimate the heart of a champion". I know Manny is the heavy favorite in this fight, but lets also consider Bradley is a Light Welterweight Champion. He earned his way to become one and this should not be taken lightly. </span></li>
</ul>
<br />
<span style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;"><b>3. He's Younger</b></span><br />
<br />
<ul>
<li><span style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;">At 29, Bradley is in his prime. He's quick and has good Boxing IQ. If Pacman thinks this is just another walk in the park, he better think twice.</span></li>
</ul>
<br />
<span style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;"><b>4. He's unpredictable</b></span><br />
<br />
<ul>
<li><span style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;">Bradley has a very unorthodox style. He can fight aggressive or even be a counter puncher. He has a history of headbutts which Manny should beware. remember, Manny <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=46Bxn6zL0ec">lost to Morales</a> the first time due to a bad cut that hindered his right eye.</span></li>
</ul>
<br />
<span style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;"><b>5. He's nickname is a "war operation"</b></span><br />
<br />
<ul>
<li><span style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;">Gosh, anybody with the nickname "Desert storm" should be taken seriously, especially if you nickname is a video game character. </span></li>
</ul>
<br />
<span style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;"><br /></span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;"><br /></span><br />
<span style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;">A lot of us are already looking beyond this fight, everybody wants Mayweather to have the balls to deal with Manny; But remember, Manny started out by beating Barrera. He was a nobody then, but that game shook the boxing world and took it by surprise. Manny should learn from that experience, he should not treat Bradley like Barrera undermined him. Or else, he won't know what hit him.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;"><br /></span><br />
<span style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;">Let's continue to Support Manny, Kapit Bisig mga Kababayan! June 9!</span>Paul Andrew Perezhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/18221436589449135673noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8208575494359955831.post-48037145364521088292012-05-21T23:55:00.002+08:002012-09-22T12:27:17.753+08:00David Archuleta Sings Side A's Forevermore and Nandito Ako<span style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;">We always hear Pinoy's making their own rendition of foreign songs, to name some like, Regine Velasquez's "I don't wanna miss a thing", Arnel Pineda singign Journey songs and so much more. But how many times do we hear a Pinoy made song being sang by "popular" foreign artists?</span><br />
<span style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;">I know, I know...why did I highlight the word Popular, coz there are artists like "the Hoff", who made an album here and even sang Pinoy songs...gosh they really suck. </span><br />
<span style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;">Hearing an all time favorite song being sang by a reputable singer gives that song a more positive effect, meaning the song was really good that, this artist chose this particular song to make his own rendition.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;">I'm actually talking about David Archuleta's rendition of "Forevermore".</span><br />
<span style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;">Although I still loved the original by "Side A", Archuleta brings this fresh flavor to it, that makes it more palatable to the young pinoy ear. Now the world can listen to really good, world class OPM!</span><br />
<span style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;">He also sang a Tagalog classic OPM song in "Nandito ako!" (I am Here)</span><br />
<span style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;">Nice choice David!</span><br />

The songs' music video is posted below, it has been posted on Youtube around March, and I just got to see it today.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;"><br />
</span><br />
<span style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;">To add more beauty to the MTV, the song also featured actress Rhian Ramos, with her rapping in English and Tagalog it really made the song sound really good. Mix it with a pretty face and a Hot body...equals an awesome video really worth watching. </span><br />
<span style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;"></span><br />
<a name='more'></a><br />
<span style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;">"Phil So Good" as a title is very appropriate and creative at that the word Phil fit in well with FEEL as it describes how amazing and Fun the Philippines is.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;"><br />
</span><br />
<span style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;"><iframe allowfullscreen="" frameborder="0" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/VjkGc0CGzpE" width="560"></iframe></span><br />
<span style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;"><br />
</span><br />
<span style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;">The song was in French/English/Tagalog...the mix sound really awesome! He featured the different places and food in the Philippines, like Cebu, Davao and Palawan. </span><br />
<span style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;"><br />
</span><br />
<span style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;">The 30 year old singer/song writer was even quoted as saying, "The Philippines is the land of music in Asia". he even added, " In France we don't live music the way Filipinos do.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;"><br />
</span><br />
<span style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;">Drolon, has been in the country for a while, and has even made a cover of the song <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=enLwd0UadHE" target="_blank">"Ipagpatawad mo"</a>, with the gorgeous Venus Raj.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;"><br />
</span><br />
<span style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;">This is indeed a big boost to our Tourism Industry as it continues to turn heads in the International scene. To sum it up let me again quote Julien Drolon, " More than the places, its the people that made me come back again and again"</span><br />
<span style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;"><br />
</span><br />
<span style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;">Thank you Julien...Mabuhay Ka!! </span>Paul Andrew Perezhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/18221436589449135673noreply@blogger.com4
