Cebu Bibingka Aims to set World Record

Bibingka is the Filipino version of the "Rice cake". The basic ingredients are "glutinous rice" or Malagkit, Sugar, milk and Coconuts. It is one of the most popular Filipino dishes that has different versions all over the country.


Mandaue, Cebu recetly celebrated the "Bibingka Festival", where they gave the Bibingka a huge Upsize as they went for making the world record for the Largest "Bibingka" or Rice cake which is currently held by South Korea.

The 182 sq. meter had a diameter of 50 ft and is 3 inches thick. It is comprised by 6,000 regular sized Bibingkas.  


The Gigantic "Bibingka" was made by the Mayol Family, who were assisted by local volunteers to spruce up this world record attempt.
